Melissa’s expertise ranges within the fields of media, public relations, social media, event production and management as well as sponsorship for large corporations, non-profit organizations and charity events. Most recently, Melissa ran a national campaign which targeted Latinos on HIV prevention, education and treatment. She trained and managed over 1,200 organizations nationwide while developing publicity for National Latino AIDS Awareness Day, which has reached to over 40,000 media outlets. She has initiated and directed a number of domestic and international campaigns while successfully building attractive platforms for multimillion dollar sponsorships with companies including Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Co, MTV, Bloomberg, Google, Southwest Airlines, OraSure Technologies, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to name a few. Melissa has received several awards for her contribution to the Latino community.
Venturing on her own, Melissa has handled public relations and event production for several non-profit organizations, entrepreneurs and corporations, such as Goya Foods, securing a variety of key print and broadcast features both domestically and internationally. Melissa has executed event production for several clients such as CitiGroup and Cipriani . Melissa has also extended her expertise and knowledge as a social media expert while helping to grow a variety of social media platforms for clients. She was voted Social Media Star in 2011.
In the Real Estate realm, Melissa has been managing property in NYC for over 10 years which brings her greater understanding to both sides of the coin – tenant, landlord and seller, investor.
While living and working abroad in Japan, Colombia and Spain, Melissa’s travels and life experiences have added a unique diversity to her career specifically in the fields of education, health, well-being, travel and culture. Melissa is fluent in reading, writing and speaking of English and Spanish and conversational Japanese.
